What the design is built to protect
Confession works when four things are true at once. Take any one of them away and it becomes something else — a survey, a sermon or a record.

- Honesty needs safety. We ask for nothing that could identify you, because the moment a confession can be traced it stops being a confession.

- People are usually harder on themselves than anyone else would be. The response you receive assumes you already know it was wrong.

- Comfort that requires pretending is not comfort. Holighost does not tell you it did not matter — it helps you look at it directly.

About the name
Holighost
Holighost is a stylised spelling of Holy Ghost, the older English term for the Holy Spirit — the presence associated, in Christian tradition, with comfort, conscience and counsel rather than with punishment.
Compressing the two words into one is deliberate. It keeps the warmth and the seriousness of the original while signalling that this is a digital adaptation: something borrowed respectfully, not something claiming the authority of the tradition it comes from.
